What is Cloudmark?

Cloudmark is a popular third-party spam detection tool used by many of the biggest ISP's and email networks.  If an email is "Cloudmarked" (i.e. it has a high Cloudmark spam score) then RatePoint will not send it -- so, if you "sent" your email a while ago and you're sure it isn't sending, this may be the reason.

If an email is Cloudmarked, it will be put into a lot of junk folders.  We do want to maintain some of the best deliverability in the industry, which is why we have to be so strict about not sending these messages in the first place.

When you are informed that one of your campaigns is Cloudmarked, the best thing to do is to try to change things up as much as possible. Cloudmark measures spam based on all the content of a message -- images, subject, from name, text, layout, etc.  Essentially, Cloudmark is a massive database that has mapped the content of countless messages that have been determined to be spam. So, if you change your subject/from name/header image/footer/whatever you can, and resend, that can get past it.

But, Cloudmark is intentionally not transparent about what triggers certain campaigns to be marked as spam, so we can never guarantee that any particular recommendation can get you "unCloudmarked." Regardless, we cannot send any email that is Cloudmarked, so we realize this can be frustrating, but we'll work with you however we can to improve the quality of your campaign.
