SPF Configuration for Exchange 2010

Due to the fact that a significant majority of SPAM comes from forged addresses, a new Sender Policy Framework (SPF) standard is being implemented by a number of ISPs and mail hosts, including several major providers (Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc). Those providers have begun to require SPF to allow mail through their networks. Mail systems will need SPF records for their domains if they want their mail to be accepted by those providers.

No action is required on your part as long as you host DNS is hosted by this provider and you do not use any other mail servers to send mail from your domain.

To create an SPF record, create a TXT record on your DNS server with one of the following:

If you ONLY use this provider as your mail servers:
v=spf1 mx ip4:216.134.213.64/28 ip4:66.129.85.128/27 ip4:66.129.95.112/28 ip4:216.26.142.96/28 -all

If you use this provider AND other mail servers:
Use the SPF Wizard and include the mail servers (smtp01.myhostedservice.com, smtp02.myhostedservice.com), the subnets (216.134.213.64/28, 66.129.85.128/27, 66.129.95.112/28, 216.26.142.96/28), and any other servers you may use.
